I have a current obsession … well I have a few, but this one tops the list right now: dessert tables! I just did this pink and orange table for one of my best friends Hilary at her bridal shower. I love the idea of serving bite-sized desserts – and lots of them – so that people with dessert ADD, like myself, can get their fill of all sorts of delicious treats! This table included:
- Orange and Pink M&M’s
- Haribo Peaches
- Chocolate Covered pretzel rods with pink and orange sprinkles
- Almond Butter Cookies rolled in pink and orange sanding sugar
- Whoopie Pies with pink vanilla buttercream frosting (recipe below)
- Mini Vanilla Cupcakes with Fresh Lemon Glaze
I found some apothecary jars on the cheap at Michael’s (I looooove me some bargains), and used my FAVE party store, www.shopsweetlulu.com for favor bags and stripey straws.
I was so excited to do this bridal shower for Hilary. Seeing my friends happy, in love, and excited about their future makes me happier than most things in life. I’ve known her, and her fiance Phil for almost six years, and watched them grow into an amazing, fun, loving couple. I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding in a few months. If the parties and events along the way have been any indication of how awesome it’s going to be – I’m psyched! There is nothing in the world like a good friend, and Hilary is definitely one. Throwing her a bridal shower (along with some of her other friends, Jess and Jess) was the least I could do to show her how loved she is <3.
The whoopie pies were a favorite at the shower, so I wanted to share them here on SKBT. I used this recipe for the pies, and my basic buttercream recipe. I died the buttercream with Americolor Gel in Deep Pink.
