Karen founded Small Kitchen Big Taste twelve years ago in her attic apartment kitchen, driven by a love of food and the joy of bringing people together. What began as small, homegrown gatherings has evolved into one of Connecticut’s most trusted catering teams — known for food that feels personal and hospitality that feels genuine.

Tess brings classical training and modern creativity to the SKBT kitchen. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, she honed her craft in New Orleans and New Haven, developing a style rooted in bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and thoughtful presentation.

Magdalena brings a love of food, hospitality, and organization to every event she touches. Originally from Long Island, she’s worked with a variety of catering teams since college, building a reputation for her calm presence and thoughtful attention to detail from planning to execution.

Born and raised in Hamden, Connecticut, Rachel has had a passion for food for as long as she can remember. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, she’s honed her craft in professional kitchens across the state and brings both precision and creativity to the SKBT team.
